How I look after your information
Who I am
Acorn Ridge AI is a trading name of Tim Allen, a sole trader based in Didcot, Oxfordshire. I decide how and why your personal information is used, so I am the "data controller".

What I collect, and why
- When you get in touch: your name, contact details, business name and anything you tell me about your business. I use it to reply to you and to arrange a free chat. This is in my legitimate interests, and it lets me take steps you ask for before any contract.
- If we work together: the details needed to scope, build and invoice the work. I use this to carry out our agreement, and to keep the accounting records I am required by law to keep.
I do not run adverts, use tracking cookies or analytics on this website, and the site has no sign-up or contact forms. My website host may keep standard technical logs, such as your IP address, to keep the site secure and working.
Your customers' data
First builds use sample data, not your real customer data. If we later work with real customer data, I will act on your instructions as your processor, and we will agree how it is handled in a written agreement based on the scope of the project before I touch it.
Who I share it with
I do not sell your information or use it for anyone else's marketing. I only use trusted providers to run the business, such as my email provider (Google), my website host (Netlify) and, when needed, my accountant. Some AI and software tools I use for a project are chosen with you and agreed with you first. Some providers store data outside the UK, and where they do I rely on the safeguards the law requires.
How long I keep it
- Enquiries that do not go ahead: up to 12 months, then deleted.
- Clients: for the length of our work, and financial records for up to six years, as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask me to see the information I hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict how I use it, or stop using it for something you object to. Email me and I will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, please tell me first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes
If I change this notice, I will update the date at the top.
